Friday 18th March

This was my last day at stylorouge ,very sad buttttttt I had a great chance to make some for graphics for there blog using photoshop and illastrator , this was for a photographers webside and a world music lable both clients of stylo . This was a great job I favoured the photographers graphic as the images i could use were more colourful and current where as the world music graphic was very bland with limited colours and pictuers of old men . both came out great :)

good isn't good enough  I have to be great !!!!!!!!!!

So our head of department is a great teacher and an amazing person ,I am learning so many very important lessons in life and in the studio .

  Although what I have learnt over the last four years has  been the most important out of my education,

Things aren't always done the way in which we are taught as "the standard proceeder" ,

I have also discovered that doing what I do by getting my self all over the place with work experience is the thing to do , the two Jo's here both got picked up  by doing internships , so you never know soon I could join the rat race of the manic world of the design industry. This work experaince I have really learnt alot from talking to people but also by actually doing things too like some how I have just picked up Indesign , its like I just woke up one day and could do it (it's taken enough time). I was asked to put professional mood boards together consisting of the images that I had to gather during the week, Jojo  showed how they do it at stylo and I just did it easy as pie. 

It's a love hate relationship . . .

Today I'm just researching as I was before, trying to find the right mood for the shots the client describes and finding it hard .I spoke to a guy who dose the web and animation thing and talked about  how he got to where he is today . I get told a friend of his was briefly working there and he just said i have a friend that can do that and bang five or 6 years later , he's doing all sorts of cool things  animation,web,projection images,video,sound.this is for every one from to Mc Fly to a random 30 year old American dude desperate to make it as a "rock star" .
 something I seem to keep coming across in regards to getting work in a design agency recently is chance and luck ,as well as the usual hard work and determination,But what I mean is 90% of the young people and old I have spoken to in the industry Got the job simply because they were in the right time and place .I was
told today that he (being the boss of stylorouge) doesn't really look at a degree on someones CV but if they have ideas and willing  and capable.

OK so maybe the London underground and suits are getting to me too 

 ,but never the less I bought two dresses  and BOTH of them on the second wear broke ! 
 ARRRRRGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG.

Any way not only that but my Lycia  external hard drive doesn't work (under a year old) and my  laptop is also fucking up  also under a year old.I have DPD coming to collect my dress and  going to Crapple this eve to sort my laptop and hard drive.
As a result i have had to go around in a vest top as in an underwear top , so if that isn't embarrassing enough  the other dress I wore that broke had a hole in the bum and I had to

I started work experience today and its great . They are another really tight nit team witch seems to be a reoccurring theme in the design agencies . The team are great and took me under there wing very quickly and let me on board like I have been on there team for years . I was asked to have a meeting with Rob 'o conner and Fran , where we spoke about a new project they have on , a client they have have bought the rights to a book called Fallen and want s to make it in to a film and this mean the in initial stages of image research have to take place so I'm currently finding the correct imagery for scenes and characters . 
what I've learnt so far:  
 I HAVE TO KNOW ALL THE programs you are useless if u only know one !!!!!!
 Also there are many designers that just make pretty things.

For the 11th of May I'm am going to be raising money for  cancer reasearch . I shall be supporting my boyfriend and friends at a charity gig in Brighton Volks.The way that I am going to be raising money will be a sponsered hair dye ( pink-chosen by the public).

A long over due packaging project . I loved doing it , I had a great time , I also discovered that I can't stand people that don't bother to try .
 The breif was to package and design a new soap called Anbar that looks like a stone with the logo within the soap.The audiance was a young afluant woman who would shop in a place like Harvy Nicks.


The idea behind this project is to go back to basics.Amber comes from wood that is  buried then mined from rock thousands of years later .I wanted to give the excitment of breaking open and discoverie as if you were mining for amber .
